The main purpose of French drains is to divert water from the house to keep it protected from moisture, fungi and even water infiltration. The main cause of a wet basement is related to defective French drains.

When installing or repairing French drains, we perform the following steps :

  • Excavation of a trench to the base around the house
  • Cleaning of the foundation and heating to remove all impurities in the crack
  • Crack sealing (if required) with a polyurethane coating
  • Spraying of a tar-based plaster to ensure waterproofing
  • Installation of a membrane to drain water downwards
  • Installation of a plastic drain (agricultural or BNQ) connected to a submersible pump
  • Installation of a drainage access chimney for inspection purposes
  • ¾ net filling
  • Soil backfilling
